Here are my finished Glass Slippers for my slowly-but-surely-upcomming Cinderella costume <3 I wanted to do something different than glitter or just silver shoes…but definitely not clear shoes! So with my love of rhinestones (because of dancing my whole life!) I decided, hey, Ill just completely rhinestone a pair of shoes to get the sparkle of glass/crystal slippers. And Im tickled pink with the results!

Here are some stats on the actual shoes:

:bulletblue: It took about 8-10 hours to complete, spread out over 2 days.
:bulletwhite: My mom did one shoe, and I did the other. But I finished mine first ;)
:bulletblue: There is approximately 1,150 stones on each shoe, about 2,300 all together.
:bulletwhite: Thats 16 WHOLE grosses!
:bulletblue: The rhinestones used are Swarovski Crystals in 20ss.
:bulletwhite: Annnnd we went through about 2.5 tubes of E6000!!

Im so excited to embark on the next part of this Cinderella journey, trying to decide if I should take on the huge challenge of the dress, or take it -somewhat- easier but still hard task of the wig….hmmmmmm we’ll see!

gorgeous shoes! Such a great idea, glass shoes seem a bit impractical...

Thank you!! :rose:
I agree! As a kid I always thought that her feet must really hurt dancing on glass and what of they broke!? So now that Im older and working on her costume I wanted to figure out a way to keep the romance, sparkle, and glamour and still be comfy/ not see through! Im pretty happy with how they turned out! :)

This looks amazing! I love how you went out of the box to use rhinestones instead of going for the clear shoes. It's a very creative idea =) how much did you spend on the rhinestones though? 2,300 is a whole lot!!

Thank you! When I decided to do it, I knew I wanted to do something different but that still represented the shoes. Clear shoes always are kinda unappealing to me (plus usually super uncomfortable!) and I didnt want to just go with silver shoes or something like that. :P I wasn't too sure how they would turn out (or be received!) but Im pretty happy with all of it!

Ive been a competitive dancer for about 13 years, and through the years I have accumilated tooooooons of extra rhinestones and extra grosses of them from just leftovers from costumes or the whatnot. It was close, but it was considered "free" since it was all stuff I already had!! :D
